We’re off on an adventure this week, a road trip across multiple states. We have a few plans, but mostly? Time with our kids exploring new places and some that we know and love. While we were talking to Brayden about all the places we’d see on our cross-country adventure, he replied with, “Woah, it’s like we’re going on a trip around the world!”
And that we are! Or, at least the eastern part of the US.
Of course packing was done with care, but I won’t get into sharing the details of our suitcases here. It’s been awhile since I’ve shared what’s in my bag, and I don’t know about you, but I love getting the scoop on what my friends carry with them and their current faves of whatever. I think that “what’s in the bag?” obsession begins when we’re kids… because I can see it with my own. They love to dig into a purse to see what they can find. So here’s a look at what’s loaded in my purse… before a bag of goldfish get’s spilled into all the crevices and broken crayons and candy wrappers find their way into the pockets.
I’m currently hauling diapers and wipes as well as a pair of baby moccs for my littlest guy. , a hair band, chewing gum and my current haul of that I’m apparently obsessed with because I have SO many (they really ARE amazing though, and cheap) fill the pockets. Nail polish, pocket mirror, baby spoon, sunscreen (gotta keep it close when living in Florida!), roll on perfume and hand sanitizer can be found regularly.
I keep a Jackery charger (this one is the Jackery Air) in my bag because I’m constantly using my phone battery, between Instagram, my kids gaming on it and it’s current purpose of internet streaming while I type this post in the passenger seat of our car. So it often needs a charge, and this thing does the trick anywhere! (Like the one I keep in my beach bag but with a little larger charge.)
I love keeping a notebook with me too. I know it’s a little analog, okay even pre-analog, but there’s something about putting pen to paper, and the act of actually writing out my lists and ideas. In case you’re unaware, I’m a bit list-crazy. My wallet also doubles as a day planner.
My iPhone is one accessory I don’t leave home without, so of course that is nestled into my bag. And being mother of three (all with childly-clumsy fingers) my phone doesn’t usually see many moments without a protective case. I like to switch mine up often and when I’m not at the beach (needing waterproof protection), I’m loving the Otterbox Symmetry case, because it’s chic while still giving the durable protection that Otterbox is known for… being the most durable case on the market!
