This is what my hands will be busy with today. Learning a skill. Oh, the usual will still be there alright, laundry, ignoring an enormous list of editing and designing projects that need to be completed (for a bit, and then knocking a few items off said list), vacuuming, mopping, entertaining a toddler, cooking healthy bean and vegetable filled meals for my family, watering my newly planted herbs and veggie plants, running errands… you know, a regular day away from the office.
But, I can’t let a visit from my knitting Aunt to go by without gleaning from her abundance of knowledge. I lured my Aunt into coming by for an afternoon visit under the guise of getting to play with her great niece (her actual great niece, my daughter, although I’m sure she thinks I’m a pretty great niece {grin} ), catching up, and of course, great snacks.
I actually had ulterior motives.
I’m going to make her teach me how to knit, since my first experience with trying to knit was a failed attempt alone in a hotel room. It didn’t end well.
I intend to extract every ounce of knitting genius from her soft little hands that I can. I hope she forgives me.

I saw this on your Flickr and thought, ‘why does she have such a pretty photo of poo?’ then I looked closer and realized what it was 🙂
I’m super jealous of your newly acquired skills. I’d love to learn to knit, I taught myself how to cross stich with Subversive Cross stich. I love that 😉

oh, great idea! I had my mom teach me at Christmas. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to figure out what to do now that I’ve made a few rows. Guess I’ll have to wait until my next visit home!
