The Maternity Series: 22 Weeks

Today I sat for a moment to dream. Those times that came frequent with my first pregnancy and still fairly often with the second, those moments that are so much fewer this time, but no less special.

Little Bunny,
With eyes closed and hands covering the little cocoon holding you for now, I imagined when my arms would be cocooning you, holding you tight, watching for those snippets of time your eyes will open, when all you need I have to give. My thoughts wondered at what color those dreamy pools your eyes will be, what color your locks of silky hair will turn. I imagined our family of five cuddled in the big bed in the mornings, playing with your curled little toes and tickling your milky skin. I thought of the late night rendezvous that would be just ours, our exclusive moments that will seal our hearts together even more. And though I can only steal away little snippets out of the day to imagine life with you… our family can’t wait to spend the rest of ours writing our story with you.

Today I sat for a moment to dream, and I dreamt of you.
