“Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things.”
~Pierce Harris
Yesterday my little ones frolicked a yard full of brightly colored eggs stuffed with chocolates and money, loved on grandparents, aunts and uncles and constantly snacked on cinnamon rolls, egg dishes, fruit and cookies (an early Easter celebration with Chris’ parents since we won’t all be in town together next weekend). But it’s not the day that is weaved into our memories, it’s the treasured moments layered within it. It’s the excitement that spread across Aliyah’s face as she re-hid all the emptied plastic eggs for Brayden and their cousin Julian to find, again. And the impromptu kiss-blowing session that erupted when Brayden spontaneously blew kisses to everyone in the room.

The fun “conversations” at the kids’ table while the adults waxed on about everything and yet nothing in particular.

My littlest’s first run with an empty bucket and his quickly aquired “finding and filling” skills.

The fact that both of my kids took turns swiping each other’s eggs when the other wasn’t looking. Swiper, no swiping!
I’m pretty sure they walked away with more than filled buckets and stuffed bellies, though I don’t know exactly which treasured moments they decided to pick up and store away with the rest of em’… but I do know that my favorites are now thread in tight with my ever growing memory tapestry.
What treasured moments are you weaving into your day?

That looks like a perfect day! LOVE his outfit! : ) And her boots are off the hook fantastic! Kaish told me he doesn’t want to go to an easter egg hunt this year. I told him that was insane…and he said “I’m too old.”
I know. I know. I cried all day : (

Love the references to a tapestry ~ and weaving our memories. I think one of the main reasons I scrapbook is that I don’t feel connected via memories to my own childhood, and long to preserve those ‘easter stealing’ moments for my kids! Enjoying all I’m discovering through Sunday Citar ~ thanks!

It looks like they had big fun. Hunts are fun that way. We had some family time and then I had some fight the germ head on, rest time. Now off to work, the hard fighting and resting paid off! Thanks for your kind words on my blog. I am pretty sure he was telling me something true, there was more detail in the story but I didn’t want to bore folks…Love you. 😉
