“You have to take risks. We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen.”
~Paulo Coelho
At that moment, my stomach was in little knots. I wasn’t sure who would be walking off of that ride. A crying, scared little girl, head buried in her daddy’s shoulder, legs wrapped tight around his waist, begging to never ride again, or a strong, brave little one who walks off the exit platform with a beaming smile of pride and excitement. Just a couple of years ago, she was the former, the result from a ride smaller than this one. But today? She nimbly climbed her way out of that belted car the latter, begging to ride again. Those excited words couldn’t fall out of her sweet lips fast enough, “Mommy, will you take me, you have to ride it, it’s so much fun!”
Today, the unexpected happened, the miracle of life was just busting at the seams as my girl grows up before my incredulous eyes. I couldn’t be more proud.
Oh and for the record, I did ride and it was so much fun!

Beautiful quote. I am kind of a chicken in regards to those rides. Don’t know what I’m going todo when Payton wasn’t to ride them. Eeek.
Hope your having a wonderful weekend!!!

children are so fearless! Glad she liked the ride. 🙂 HOpefully she won’t grow up like me and not ride her first real roller coaster until she’s 25! 🙂

Me too! I thought it looked familiar. Guess they all look similiar.
I am experiencing this with my oldest too. She has always been cautious, anxious.
You should have seen her climbing the rocks out over the ocean this summer, scared me to death.
But feet off the ground, you will never get me THERE!!
How easily we mama’s become so proud.
