“Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.”
~Mary Jean Iron
While emailing back and forth with a beautiful blogging friend, the one that interviewed me here, the above quote came jumping off the screen at me, at the end of her email. It completely moved me. Which is exactly why there’s this thirst for writing and documenting the unquestionable beauty found in the normal day, found in the ordinary. A thirst that gets a slight reprieve and then just gets stronger with each drink. I crave those normal moments with my littles, learning from it… taking it all in. And what those everyday ripples in time have taught me, well, it’s so much more than even the extraordinary… it’s profound.
