“I like the night. Without the dark, we’d never see the stars.”
~ Stephenie Meyer, Twilight
There’s nothing quite like night in a metropolitan city. Where twilight’s curtain drops, and yet falls just shy of earth. The city’s glow rising from below. Oh and when it snows? When the sky seems to be spinning, and commotion is hushed by giant white flakes tumbling in silent spirals and looping elegantly around the fortress of a strong skyline, it’s beautiful. Magical even.
Different, and yet just as marvelous is the sight of the stars pinned on twilight’s clear sky hovering over the quiet rooftop of my sleeping littles. Where the salty air carries the faintest sound of crashing waves and the moonlight bounces off of the ocean’s crest in a chorus of lullabies.
My family and I, miles apart and yet wrapped in the same beautiful blanket of night.
