We’ve had a few beautiful days of sunshine, and they had a precursor of a few days of rain. The clouds let out a river full of droplets over our soft ground, and the call of thunder brought us to the window. Seeing my little guy get excited about the small everyday miracle of water falling from the sky makes me look for beauty in the little things all the more.
Today, we’re setting out on a new adventure, just Chris and I. The kids have four days worth of fun planned at their grandparents house, and while I leave part of my heart here wrapped around each of their little fingers I also fully plan on looking for the everyday miracles found in the sun setting on a white sandy beach. In walking beneath the shade of large palms in lieu of my front maple. In the beauty and warmth of an outdoor cafe while conversation, plans and dreaming last far longer than expected. I plan to get excited about the privilege of simply being human… of having the ability to enjoy, truly enjoy, life around me.
