“Just as there is a trend toward high tech today, there is another trend toward high touch – homemade and wholesome.”
~Meryl Gardner
There’s just something about this mobile that I made for Baby Blue before she was born. It still dances to the movement in her room. I wanted something a bit modern, that matched the theme of her nursery, and since I couldn’t find one, I decided to make it myself. This homemade touch to her room has lasted much longer than if I had found one to purchase, I’m sure. Her love of animals keeps it alive and swaying in her room, even now.

homemade equals time put in….this ALWAYS makes a gift more valuable and special…especially when it’s for our most precious gift of all…our children! blessings…

I love the mobile. I find the things I make stay around longer too. When you put that effort into creating just the right thing you get a little more attached to it, I think.

I love this. It’s beautiful. I love your citar for today too. It’s sooo true. As much as I love my BlackBerry, my laptop, etc. I love and need some low-tech time with a good book, writing a letter, or just talking face-to-face! Imagine that! 🙂

What a simple and beautiful design! I never would have been able to think of something like that. Good job!
And happy new year to you and yours!

Oh, that’s really sweet. Isn’t great how things you take time and effort to produce will just last and last. And not just in a material sense, but in a sentimental one.
Karen says
How cute! It’s amazing that you made that yourself…good job! The quote is so true, and it isn’t coincidence. The more Jetsons we become the more we revert to tradition for comfort from the abstract and impersonal elements of modernity.
Christina Lee says
Oh- so now you’re showing off your craftiness too!!!! 😉 😉
my husband painted different cutsie bugs on my son’s wall for his baby room and he still loves them and touches them at 4. I don’t think he will part with them if we try to do a big boy room now.
