I’m ready for all of our summer activities with , as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #StayfreeSisters
Raise your hand if you’ve got a Summer Bucket List, or at least a few goals to shoot for this season! I definitely don’t want to hear those two dreaded words from my littles (although it’s bound to happen at some point I’m sure)… “I’m bored” is most definitely not in our summer plans. Since our family tends to be on the more spontaneous side, meaning we like to make plans, but usually it’s the last minute text of a friend or the extended hours of summer that keep us out and moving long past what we thought. And to me, being prepared for fun at a moments’ notice is everything.
I usually try to keep a few of these essential items packed in our vehicle year round anyway, but once the calendar flips to summer months and the temperatures begin to rise, I make sure to double check our go-bag making sure it’s prepped for all kinds of warm-weather adventure! For us, when the day heats up, water is always our favorite escape, whether it’s a quick stop at the beach while out running errands or for sunset after karate class, a last minute splash park date with friends or stopping by the pool with nana and papa, we want to be ready at a moments’ notice! And also, who wants to spend time going home to get what you need when you can use that time to enjoy those active summer moments with your family instead?!
+ Beach towels. Okay, they don’t actually have to be beach towels, and you don’t even have to keep one for each family member (although that is an option too!), but have a couple of towels for any of those by-chance water encounters, especially in the summer heat!
+ Sidewalk chalk, just because. They will come in handy at some point!
+ Bubbles are an easy way to keep kids entertained. Have to wait for an appointment? Need to keep them happy for ten minutes in between errands? Want to stop at the park to play and burn off energy? Bubbles can be a mama’s best friend.
+ Sunscreen and bugspray. A key to staying active this summer is being prepared with protection! I usually keep a travel size baby powder in my bag as well since it’s so helpful for removing sand from feet.
+ Sanitizer and wipes. I’m sure every mom has some form of this in their car this very moment, as wipes come in handy not just for diapered little bottoms, but also for sticky fingers, messy faces, spilled items and so much more! I also love keeping a spray version of sanitizer because it’s easy to use, and I make my own version without harsh chemicals to keep on hand.
+ While on the subject of keeping clean and healthy, we always have a small first aid kit in the car. With three kids running around a park, the odds are good that we may need something from the kit. Even if it is just a bandaid just to make a booboo “feel” better. Also, I know water will get warm in the car, but having some around for emergencies, even if you bring it with you each time to keep it fresh, is a smart choice.
+ Diapers. Obviously those diapered baby bums need clean diapers. And if you’re out of this stage of life, rejoice in that part of it. 😉 Oh, don’t forget to add in a swim diaper or two.
+ A small beach blanket or picnic blanket. We keep a small, compact version in our go-bag… perfect for throwing down on the sand at the beach or a spot to rest at a park or even in the middle of a field for an impromptu picnic with food we’ve picked up!
+ for mama. Yes, even though mama’s are good at preparing what everyone else might need, we can’t forget about ourselves. feature Thermo Control® Technology to wick away moisture and flexible layers that move with our body to keep us dry and comfortable even when staying active and keeping up with our littles and our summer bucket list. I know it’s not always a fun thing to talk about, but their energy doesn’t wane during our time of the month and we need something that keeps up with us and we chase them around.
+ Swimsuits for all! It might feel like a pain to keep a swimsuit in the car, but believe me, you’ll be happy you do! Living in Florida, we end up with multiple suits just because we wear through them so quickly. So, even if you keep an older, slightly worn suit as your backup in the car, I’m sure you’ll end up wearing it at some point! I started this little tradition after a couple impromptu trips to the beach where we ended up in soaking clothes by the end. 😉 You could also keep an extra pair of undies and tank tops in there too since neither take much space and can also come in quite handy.
What do you love about summer? I’d love to hear what you do to stay active and make the most of these long summer days!
Happy summering friends!

Great list! I keep extra diapers and hand wipes in my car at all times – never know when you will need those. I need to add a few of your suggestions for our summer fun.
