Spring Packing Essentials: Packing Cubes
I love packing cubes because they are a great way to keep everything organized, I usually have 1-3 packing cubes per person and I like that they come in different sizes. We tend to use the smaller ones for undergarments and socks and then the larger ones for our clothes. Side Note: Instead of using suitcases, our family of 8 uses large plastic tubs. We have a rack on the back of our car and the tubs are a waterproof way to transport all of our stuff since we have a full car load and no extra room inside.

Spring Packing Essentials: Mosquito Repelling Wristband/Bug Repellant and SunScreen
Our family loves exploring the forested areas, trying to find waterfalls and wildlife. And with the spring rains comes the spring bugs… mosquito repellant is definitely something you want to have on hand.

Spring Packing Essentials: Puzzles & Games
While we may not mind going out in the spring rains, it’s always a good idea to have some back up activities for those cozy indoor cabin days. Our family loves puzzles and games, but movies and books are also a great idea.
Spring Packing Essentials: Quick Dry Travel Towel
Quick dry towels are awesome if you and your family are on the go. You just ring out extra moisture and then place them in sunlight or a ventilated area, they’ll dry up in a few minutes.
spring Packing Essentials: Cooling towels
Cooling towels are designed to help regulate your body temperature to a comfortable level so you can be in the heat longer without suffering the effects of heat stress. These are handy to have with you when you are going to be out in the heat for long periods of time.
spring Packing Essentials: First Aid Kit
If your kids are anything like mine, they are fearless… they climb trees, they jump off rocks, they crawl in the dirt… you name it they want to do it. So because of that, I always like to have a portable first aid kit on hand. The kits are usually packed with the supplies you’d need to treat minor injuries including cuts, scrapes, burns, bruises, and sprains.

spring Packing Essentials: Hiking Shoes
If you are planning on hitting the trails you will want to pack your hiking shoes. On a hike there is a chance that you might bump your foot against rocks, stumps, thorns, and other obstacles. Hiking boots are designed to better protect your feet.

spring Packing Essentials: Water Bottle
Having a good water bottle is essential for those days that you are going to be out and about exploring.
7 Signs of Dehydration

spring Packing Essentials: Rain Gear (boots, Jackets, umbrellas)
With the spring season comes the rain. We always find that it’s best to be prepared with rain boots, rain jackets or ponchos and of course travel umbrellas so that you can still enjoy your outdoor adventures no matter what the weather has in mind.
spring Packing Essentials: Portable Phone Chargers
When you are on your adventures, whether that be hiking the trails, or hanging out on the water, you want to make sure that your phone has enough battery power for emergencies and for photo taking, so we always carry a portable charger with us.

Spring Packing Essentials: DayPack (or BackPack)
A daypack is a smaller backpack that is used for carrying daily essentials. It’s ideal for hiking because it is still relatively lightweight. We load ours up with our first aid kit, ponchos, snacks, bug repellant, and sunscreen.
