Have you ever had one of those days? You know the one. The one where the kids haven’t been crying, but instead they’re happily doing what they’re supposed to do, where you’re all singing songs and everyone is cheerful and things are in order. And then, BAM, you accidentally pinch your daughters hand in the car window while rolling it up. And life is all TAKE THAT, PRIDE. Welcome back to reality.
Kind of like a couple of days ago when I woke up with a runny nose, which seemingly found it’s way into Brayden’s and woke us all up at 3AM in a sweaty, sneezy, snotty mess. Meaning on top of feeling sluggish and stuffy, we were tired. Pile on the irritability.
Our usually mild mannered, smiley, happy baby ended up spending the day in fits of screaming, but between each scream, he’d smile and grin, like, I’m the happiest baby alive, but WHY CAN’T I BREATHE?
It was my fault that his head was spinning around every three or four minutes. As moms, it’s always our fault. Right?
But the amazing thing about having children is that life is like one big playground and every day is like one giant DO-OVER.
Because they wake up and gaze at you with those big blue eyes and you know that this day really is a fresh new start.

Isn’t this so true… I love the days after the kids are sick and suddenly it’s like a switch goes off and they become their normal playful self again…it’s a beautiful moment after such sadness. Hope everyone gets better soon and baby blue gets more handsome by the day!

I believe he is sticking his tongue out at you.. hee hee.
We had your day all last week. Partially cold, partially teething and all kinds of screaming! When we got up for the 200th time the other night I told John, you better take him. I’m certain I am going to sway myself to sleep and drop him right on the floor… long nights, but those are the kind we’ll laugh about when they get older 🙂

So much truth in this post. I had happy babies like that too. I’d clip a nail too short and she’d cry and smile and cry and smile. It was so great!
Hope your next day is a good one!

One of the toughest things people like us have to remember is that, we’re not perfect and life isn’t either. I know, I have to work to remember that every day. 😉 Luv ya!
