Have you ever set a goal, felt inspired and motivated, and then… life just happens? Maybe you got overwhelmed, hit a roadblock or started wondering if your dreams are even worth it anymore.
If that sounds familiar, this episode is for you because we’re talking all about sticking to your dreams and giving yourself the permission to pivot when needed.
So whether your vision board is coming to life or gathering dust in the corner, this episode will give you the reset you need to move forward with confidence, grace, and momentum.
Table of Contents
In this episode, I discuss:
- Why so many people struggle to stick with goals and how to break that cycle
Did you know only 8% of people actually achieve their New Year’s resolutions? It’s not because we aren’t capable, but because our brains are wired to resist change. By writing down your goals or creating a visual representation of them, you activate your reticular activating system (RAS), a powerful part of the brain that helps you stay focused and motivated.
- The power of flexibility – goals aren’t meant to be rigid roadmaps, they’re guiding stars that help you navigate your journey. Allow your goals to shift and evolve, embrace the freedom to pivot, change direction and take detours – it’s all part of the journey.
- Three questions to ask yourself when you’re feeling stuck or when you goals aren’t happening quickly enough. These include asking yourself if this is still what you truly want or if your desire has changed, what the first step you can take (however small!) is to get you closer to that goal, and the third question – how can I reframe this delay as growth?
- Why micro-milestones are the secret to long-term success. If you focus only on the finish line and only celebrate when you hit the big goal, you’ll miss all the growth happening along the way. Small, consistent wins build momentum, boost confidence and keep you moving forward, even on the tough days.
- The importance of building a support team, such as finding an accountability partner, a podcast that inspires you, or a community in real life or online – all of these spaces and resources can help you stay motivated and keep you accountable.
- The importance of gratitude! Gratitude rewires your brain and helps improve your mental resilience. Instead of focusing on the gap between where you are and where you want to be, focus on what’s working and how far you’ve already come.
And so much more!
