Doesn’t looking at cute little baby faces like this make your ovaries jump and you feel like you just might start lactating? Well, I guess if you’re a man reading this, you wouldn’t feel that way… and just about now you probably also feel a bit uncomfortable. It’s okay, I’ll stop talking about lactation now and move on to the baby. Because I’m sure men are always so comfortable with babies.
This is our little cousin, whom we all welcomed into the world so joyfully…. his daddy made it home from Iraq about 3 hours before his mama went to the hospital! (You might remember hearing about him before here.)
We’ve been able to spend some time with him at our home. Baby Blue loves these times and is always ready and willing to entertain him… sometimes a little too much. She’s ready with the pacifier as soon as he starts to fuss. She wraps him in blankets if there’s even the tiniest chill in the air. Always willing to hold the bottle, showering him with love and kisses. That’s the way it is with a baby in our house.
As this visit progressed, this precious little boy began to squirm and show us the discontent he felt. It was time for a diaper change. Without thinking twice, we laid him on the mat, and started cleaning him up (by “we” I mean “his mommy”). Baby Blue has been involved in all the caring that takes place for this little guy, so we never thought anything about changing him there… that is until we heard Baby Blue state, “There’s his tail, right there!” It took a moment for me to comprehend what she meant… and then it hit me… ‘that’ was his ‘tail.’
Yep, baby girl, you’re right. Little boys have ‘tails’ and that’s all were going to say about that.

LOL…laughing out loud over here! That’s the cutest. I’m with you, I’d leave it at that…a tail is a nice way to put it!
Those pics are priceless…that little pouty lips makes tears come to my eyes. I just can’t stand to see babies pucker up like that…breaks my heart. That’s probably why Isaiah was sooooo spoiled. Oops!

ROFL I love it!!!

LOL THAT is too cute! A tail. I wish my boys were innocent like that again. I did ask my 4 year old if he knew what “smoking” was (discussion about a family member), and he said “Yes…it’s when people put those round sticks in their mouth and then they breathe FIRE.”

That is the cutest thing I have heard that part called! I love what little kids come up with… they say the funniest things!

LOL @ tooj!! You couldn’t make up the stuff kids say even if you wanted to. They’re little geniuses and I love hearing about how they see/experience the world 🙂
And I turn to absolute mush when I’m around a baby. It’s scary.

Oh that’s classic! Before this story, the cutest reference I had heard about a boy’s “tail” was a mom watching her 3 year old explore his region and say with a sigh of content “My buddy.” Thank goodness for blogs to record these wonderful moments!
