You know the drill… get nominated, donate, record a video, share, nominate. The cycle continues and I’m happy to be a part of it! Just look at that face, can’t you tell? Really though, I’m blessed to be healthy and happy to participate in any small way that will help someone else. And another plus? My kids were ecstatic to help and it was a great opportunity for a learning experience.
According to The ALS Association, they have received an astonishing $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year due to the #IceBucketChallenge literally soaking the nation.
What’s even more is that they’re ecstatic for the attention it’s bringing… “While the monetary donations are absolutely incredible, the visibility that this disease is getting as a result of the challenge is truly invaluable. People who have never before heard of ALS are now engaged in the fight to find treatments and a cure for ALS.”
The Ice Bucket Challenge is making a profound difference, and you can to by donating (along with me!) as we raise awareness and fight to find a cure for ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. There’s a great organization called ALS Guardian Angels whose donation funds go to families who are in desperate need of it as they care for a family member with ALS. And another research company that does NOT support embryonic stem cell research, that I support.
So, now it’s my turn to continue the cycle, and I’m nominating the gorg Anna of In Honor of Design, Kelle of Enjoying the Small Things, Bri of Mamages, local friend Christina of Mommy Spot Tampa and one of my best girls, Melody Cooper Jones! Take it away girls!

Awesome!!
My husband and I were both challenged, so we got doused with ice AND made a donation as well. It really is raising huge awareness for ALS, and more money than any previous campaign.
Since I have a family member with ALS – I’m am thrilled that people are helping!
(and you know that moment when the ice first hits you and your whole body is kinda paralyzed? that’s what it would be like ALL the TIME if you had no control of your muscles/nerves. Imagine that moment – lasting forever. till you died.)

So amazing what the campaign is doing… and even just all that I’m learning about ALS because of this. Thank you so much for sharing. xo

You are awesome! My hubby and I were just challenged by his school too! Such an awesome way to raise money and spread it like wildfire! I should use this example in Brand Market;);)
hugs!

Thank you Anna!! I think it’s absolutely amazing how it’s spread, and the awareness it’s brought. Definitely something to use in Brand Market… the idea behind it is genius!! 🙂
