Wishing you a very sweet and lovely love day from my family to yours, wherever you may be!
Days don’t always go according to plan, as evidenced by these photos. The morning brought with it beautiful sunlight and warm temperatures. It really was the only evening that we had available, and the fact that it was a beautiful day was the perfect mix. With music playing and windows down we drove the couple miles that separate us from the coastline, with a quick stop for bubblegum on the way. As our car inched toward the beach path we saw it. A wall of dense, dark fog crawled along the coast, enveloping the water and the sand, dancing over the blades of grass and kissing the tops of each rock it crossed. On we pressed. While our attention was on the mist surrounding us, we didn’t even realize the car had fallen silent as all THREE kids had fallen asleep on the short ride. All three. For one, that’s a phenomenon that rarely happens save the few gloriously quiet hours at night when they all happen to count sheep together. And two, have you ever tried to take photos of your littles ones once you have to wake them from slumber? Yeah, it’s like the old saying goes, “Never wake a sleeping baby.”
But we did. And they totally rocked the beach and sand, fog and all. The completely tangible mist, that left all of us with wet hair and slightly soggy clothes, was an unexpected turn of events, an opportunity. Life is full of them, so whether big or small, we’re learning to smile and laugh and rock it out anyway.

Whether your Valentine’s Day is bringing you all that you’d hoped, or leaving you far from it, I pray you take each opportunity this day brings to love, laugh and smile through it, to rock it out.

Despite a crazy nor’easter swirling around us, sleeting snow and a city that’s half shut down, I fully plan on finding sugar in the form of chocolate with plenty of pink, and red, and sparkles. I like Valentine’s Day.

gorgeous! Just lovely and perfect for the holiday.
And how sweet is his little sweater. Love.
Just curious: were you playing any particular music, or singing a song, or driving at certain speed when that miracle of 3 sleeping children occurred? cause I’d really enjoy recreating that myself. 😉
