Isn’t it amazing the reflection that a new year brings? So many things that come throughout the year. Plans coming to fruition, goals met, memories to savor, and even little surprises. We’ve had a few of those this year, like the wedding of my brother with a family trip to Hawaii. Planned in just a couple of months and turned out to be such a fun time and great vacation. The other big surprise was this here little blog. It began just a few months ago at the encouragement of my mother that we should start blogs… I’m still waiting to see hers. I had no idea the impact this blog would have on me and my family, and how much I’d enjoy it. So I want to say a big Thank You for sharing with me along my journey this past year, or at least part of it. For continuing to check in here everyday to read, for your encouragement and joy in my joy, for your creativity and inspiration.
As I’ve said, I’m not a huge resolution maker, but I love lists and plans… so goals fit right in there. I’m always looking at ways to enjoy life and family more, and ways to improve myself. I have some personal goals that I won’t bore you with, and also some creative ones I’ll share.
– Learn to knit. I’ve been talking to my husband about this for awhile. I always love the excitement that comes with accomplishment, and I’d love to be able to make some sweet, soft things for my family.
– Take more photos. It seems I’ve been already doing this one, but there are still little moments of life that I don’t want to miss or forget. Along with this comes more practice in Photoshop…
– Become better at Photoshop. I need to get out of my ‘usual’ and learn so many more fun and different things.
– Try something new. No matter how scary, difficult or unknown it may feel, I want to do my best. (My husband is ready to take me rock climbing… maybe that will be it)
– Teach my daughter something new. This one won’t be too difficult. She’s always excited and ready to learn new things, and does so without the ‘teaching.’ I really want to make a conscious effort to teach something special or that I think she’d love.
May your own new year be filled with fun, creativity, dreams and excitement! Cheers to you and to yours!! Cheers to 2009!

I’m new to reading your blog, and I definitely enjoy it. Your use of different size & color words is cool. My blog could use some fun with the words and colors.
For learning to knit you should start with these cool knitting rings. You can check them out here. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3407&PRODID=xprd76463
My first knitting projects on them can be seen here.
