I never liked the job of having to haul in firewood at my parents old house. Besides, we’d always get in trouble for dropping wood pieces on the carpet. But now, in their new house, there is something missing when we just flip a switch and have a fire.

My husband spent all of Sunday splitting wood from a tree we had chopped down. I didn’t get too excited though, as we’re giving it all away. To quote my husband, “The problem is, when it’s cold outside the last thing I want to do is go out in it to bring in wood for a fire.” Looks like another winter playing board games in front of the thermostate again…
