We had a fabulous and luminous #FreshEvent at West Elm, crafting, creating and making new friends… just what a make and take event should be!
How has it been so long since I’ve posted this?! We’ll just go ahead and blame it on my unborn baby. Baby brain covers a multitude of forgetfulness and procrastination, right? I couldn’t go on any longer without sharing some photos from our recent Fresh Event we held at West Elm Hyde Park Tampa. I just love connection, and these events are the perfect way to chat and connect, to meet and make new local friends and to have fun over food and crafts! I was thankful for my friend Krayl Funch, author of An Appealing Plan, for co-hosting this recent event and for putting together some great treats for us all! We shared ideas for bringing metallic trends into entertaining styles with a Modern Relish Tray, a Raspberry Mocktail Punch and luminous accents for a tablescape including personalized votives. I loved sharing simple tips for easy wrapping ideas (which can work all year long for any occasion!) with butcher block or craft paper… and the beautiful West Elm tables were also covered with the craft paper to protect them from our drinks and crafts, but also to create a cohesive look throughout our event space (a little “tablecloth” trick I use often!).
Of course, finger foods are always a hit, and with a beautifully presented Modern Relish Tray, Krayl expertly taught us all how to make a delicious Creamy Lemon Tofu dip that is light enough to not ruin an appetite for dinner, but a perfect mix to welcome guests with. Check out the full recipe tutorial here! It’s simple to make, and although I was a little hesitant to try it at first, it was really delicious!
Since I’m already sporting a full on belly bump, Krayl also had sparkling drinks to share, completely virgin, in honor of the growing bump. Gladly we all sipped the sparkly Raspberry Mocktail Punch!
As we sipped and noshed and chatted, it was also time to craft… so on to the luminous votives! Something so simple as plain glass votives and metallic paint can really make a difference in a tablescape or decor, and I’ve been using the ones I made ever since. Everyone really created their own special looks! With some decoupage techniques, a slew of Martha Stewart adhesive stencils and tape, each votive looked so different and yet worked well together with the metallic paints. We really did get our own Martha Stewart on (yep, totally just used a name as a verb).
And here’s the deal, you guys, it’s not a #FreshEvent without some giveaways and fun. 🙂 Everyone at this #FreshEvent at West Elm left with a gift bag as well as a Hyde Park Village tote and goods! Swag is always fun.
I’m so grateful for the fabulous ladies who came out to taste, sip, craft and support this #FreshEvent! Until the next one ladies!
