There is something about spring that makes me want to do all the things. The light shifts, everything starts to feel fresh again, and suddenly I’m standing in my kitchen with citrus slices and fresh herbs wondering how we’re already through winter. I love it!

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you might have caught the cute spring DIY reels I’ve been sharing lately. The response has been so sweet, and so many of you have asked for more details on each one. So today I’m pulling a few of them together into one spot for you, three easy spring DIYs that you can do this weekend without a lot of supplies or stress.
Let’s get into it!

Spring Simmer Pot: The Easiest Home Hack You’ll Ever Try
Can we talk about how good your home can smell with nearly zero effort? This spring simmer pot is my absolute favorite fresh home hack. It takes about five minutes to throw together, your whole house smells like a spa retreat, and it just feels so fresh and bright.
All you need is a pot of water, some sliced citrus, and a handful of fresh mint. That’s it. Let it come to a gentle simmer on the stove, step back, and just enjoy the moment. It’s one of those things that makes you feel like you have your life together even on the busiest days.
What You’ll Need
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- A handful of fresh mint
- Lavender essential oil (optional)
- Water
- A medium saucepan or glass pot (the glass one is so pretty on the stove!)
- Fresh flowers
How To Make It
Slice your citrus and toss it into your pot along with the fresh mint, heads of the flowers and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Fill with water about three-quarters of the way up. Place on the stove over medium-low heat and bring to a low simmer, not a boil. As the steam rises, your whole home will start to smell amazing. You can let it go for a couple of hours, just be sure to check the water level and add more as needed.
Pro tip: Swap out the mint for rosemary and vanilla extract for a cozier vibe, or try lavender and lemon for a more floral spring scent. The combinations are endless!

Pressed Flower Bookmarks: A Beautiful Craft You’ll Want to Give as Gifts
For the full original post with pics you can see that here.
Okay, these bookmarks are so pretty that I genuinely had a hard time not keeping them for myself. They look like something you’d find at a fancy boutique, but they’re made with a few clear acrylic blanks, some pressed flowers, and Mod Podge. That’s it.
They make the most gorgeous gifts, Easter Baskets, Mother’s Day, teacher appreciation, end-of-year presents for friends. Once you start making them, you will absolutely want to make a dozen. Fair warning!
What You’ll Need
- Clear acrylic bookmark blanks (with hole at the top)
- Pressed and dried flowers and ferns (you can buy pre-pressed or press your own!)
- Mod Podge Matte
- A small paintbrush
- Craft paper or parchment to protect your work surface
- Optional: ribbon or twine to thread through the hole
How To Make Them
Start by peeling off the protective film on both sides of your bookmark. Then lay out your blank bookmark on a piece of craft paper. Brush a thin, even layer of Mod Podge over the surface of the blank. Arrange your pressed flowers and ferns however you like, I love layering them so it looks lush and full. Once you’re happy with the arrangement, brush another layer of Mod Podge over the top to seal everything in place. Let it dry completely before handling (about 20–30 minutes), and then add a second sealing coat for extra durability.
Pro tip: Work one bookmark at a time so your flowers don’t shift before the Mod Podge sets. And if you want a little sparkle, add a tiny bit of gold glitter to the wet Mod Podge before it dries, it is so lovely.

Flower Pot Snack Cups: The Cutest Spring Party Idea
I cannot get over how adorable these are. Mini terra cotta flower pots filled with fruit, rolled deli meat, cheese, and little flower picks, they look like a little spring garden you can eat. They are perfect for Easter brunch, a little girl’s birthday, a garden party, or honestly just a fun Tuesday snack because why not?
The kids go absolutely wild for them, and they are way easier to put together than they look.
What You’ll Need
- Mini terra cotta pots (cleaned well before use)
- Mixed nuts or granola (to fill the base, they act as your “soil”!)
- Green grapes (to act as your draping plants)
- Strawberries
- Rolled deli meat (pepperoni or salami work great as “roses”)
- Rolled slices of provolone or yellow cheese (for “flower petals”)
- Toothpicks or small skewers to layer fruit, cheese and meat on
- Small decorative flower picks could be real or faux (optional but so cute!)
How To Assemble Them
Start by filling your clean terra cotta pot with granola or mixed nuts, these fill the base and give you something to nestle everything into. From there, it’s all about layering! Tuck in your green grapes, then poke in toothpicks threaded with rolled deli meat, strawberries, and cheese to look like little flowers. Finish with a few flower picks and you’ve got the prettiest little snack pot.
Pro tip: Make these right before serving so the fruit stays fresh. You can prep all your ingredients ahead of time and then assemble in just a few minutes when you’re ready. They also look so sweet lined up in a row as individual portions!

Turn It Into a Girls Day: How to Make a Whole Afternoon Out of It
You know what’s even better than making one of these projects? Making all three of them with your favorite people.
Honestly, these three DIYs were practically made to go together. You’ve got a craft, a snack, and a little home magic, and when you line them up as a full afternoon, it becomes the sweetest girls day without a whole lot of planning or expense.
Here’s how I’d do it:
Set the scene first.
Before everyone arrives, get your simmer pot going on the stove. The moment your guests walk through the door and it smells like citrus and fresh herbs, the vibe is already set. It’s such a simple touch but it makes everything feel intentional and special.
Snack while you craft.
Assemble the flower pot snack boards together as a group activity, or set them up ahead of time so there’s something to munch on while you work. Either way, having food on the table makes everything more fun and relaxed. Put on a good playlist, pour some drinks (we love our Spring Mocktail or Mimosas,) and just enjoy being together.
Finish with the group craft.
Save the pressed flower bookmarks for last, they’re the most hands-on of the three and make for a really lovely slow-down moment. Everyone gets to make their own, arrange their flowers however they like, and take something beautiful home at the end of the day. It’s the kind of thing people genuinely cherish.
The whole thing comes together for next to nothing, and it’s the kind of afternoon that feels really full, the good kind of full, where you made something with your hands and laughed a lot and didn’t look at your phone for a few hours.
Whether it’s your daughter, your best friend, your mom, or your whole group chat finally getting together, this is a really good excuse to make it happen. Spring is the perfect time for it.
So Who’s Feeling Crafty?
I love how different these three are, one for your home, one for gifting, and one for snacking. But they all have that same springtime energy that just makes everything feel a little lighter and more fun.
Drop a comment below and tell me which one you’re going to try first or if you’re going to host a party! And if you make any of these, I would love to see them, tag me on Instagram so I can cheer you on. Happy spring, friends!
